To tight or not to tight that is the question

Or some random fashion musing - might be more apt.  It is that time of year girls - the sun is out - but our legs are white and really is it that warm??  Now there is always the jean or the pant but if you are a skirt girl - at what stage of spring is the black opaque just too, well, black, winter, dark, brr - you with me??  Now you can go for the coloured tight - a look i love on others but never seems to quite make it to my legs - now being a child of the 70's - i love a tan so relatively speaking there is still a touch of colour to my legs (a touch being the operative word) so in the interests of spring i have gone for the bare leg - so girls here is our Thursday fashion musing - should i have done the tight and if so, which ones??  Mmmm....  have a good weekend - nearly here xx

The scarf adds that pop of colour because i do love beige and i feel the need for a bit of colour

Here he is the lovely boy

And this is what he thinks of random fashion musings ..

I love my new Amadeo Cameo Ring - kind of shown here!

High back pleat (in motion) - the idea - the front (high) split will not be quite so ... well split

Can't really help you with your question though, as I usually also either go bare legged or opt for black or virtually sheer looking, can't see it's there type of stockings.

  9. Love the skirt with that Chloe blouse and the bare legs are wonderful with it. Tights are always tricky with beige. I wear thin grey wooly ones with a camel skirt of mine, but at this time of year, more fun to go bare. I really like that you paid attention to the back of the skirt, unfortunately lots of designers tend to neglect that side.

  14. Hello Claire and what a beautiful ensemble! You said you are a child of the 70s and this look made me think about a very chic vintage-inspired look. And the skirt is another fabulous F&F piece! As for your question, my rule is to go sans tight between May and September, regardless the temperature...Have a lovely w-e!

    1. Caterina If you say so - May to September - after all you are a very stylish girl! xx

    2. Claire, you are too kind! I think my 'tight rule' comes from the fact that I grew up in Italy and there it would be very weird to wear tights in those months...

Regarding the Roger Vivier, I've always found them very comfortable, but for the Belle Vivier model (both 20 mm and 40 mm heel) it's true that they can be a little bit loose if you take your size (which is what I do). As for the Belle de Nuit/Gommette, I usually take half size smaller. My 'secret' to ensure perfect fitting is to use one of the Dr. Scholl's insoles (http://new.drscholls.com/drscholls/products/for-her.jspa). Hope it's helpful!

Loving the skirt very much, such a great colour and all those split & pleat surprises are just fab. Also think that the idea to use a bright scarf is absolutely brilliant.
Hope you are well, happy and enjoying the spring and wonderful weather.

  25. I love your outfit Claire, it's truly beautiful--and I so relate to the bare legs dilemma! I was probably the only girl in nyc running around in a motorcycle jacket, mini and bare legs in my 20s. I just couldn't seem to wear itchy tights for long, although I love the look on others. I still go bare, but here in california that is the norm. I like the look exactly as you're wearing it.

  30. At last! Kept looking and no new blog, then an e-mail from Lynn in Cascais to compliment you! So now I have looked and there it is AT LAST!! Love the skirt the design and cut is superb. Also the top, am a sucker for animal prints. Think your legs look great - if you don't get goose-bumps. Opaques would not work with the outfit but as Brazilian Babe commented : "virtually sheer, can't see they are there"! Took the words out of my mouth. I hate above all else TAN sheer panti-hose, well hate even more panti-hose with sandals that is the most serious fashion no no, virtually sheet etc!!! You are looking wonderful. Luv, Mum

  31. my eye went directly to the skirt! i love you you aren't afraid to layer with different textures and tonal color.

  32. Ah that' my dilemma too. I have your skine tone too so I am always embarassed to show my mozzarella-cheese like legs. I generally use the netfish tights but looking at you now i see that the lack of tights is acceptable so i'll try the same! You are looking great claire and i am missing you a lot!

Although I have been so busy and no time to tan so my legs are still a weird shade of London White! (or blue?!)
