Or some random fashion musing - might be more apt. It is that time of year girls - the sun is out - but our legs are white and really is it that warm?? Now there is always the jean or the pant but if you are a skirt girl - at what stage of spring is the black opaque just too, well, black, winter, dark, brr - you with me?? Now you can go for the coloured tight - a look i love on others but never seems to quite make it to my legs - now being a child of the 70's - i love a tan so relatively speaking there is still a touch of colour to my legs (a touch being the operative word) so in the interests of spring i have gone for the bare leg - so girls here is our Thursday fashion musing - should i have done the tight and if so, which ones?? Mmmm.... have a good weekend - nearly here xx
The scarf adds that pop of colour because i do love beige and i feel the need for a bit of colour
Here he is the lovely boy
And this is what he thinks of random fashion musings ..
I love my new Amadeo Cameo Ring - kind of shown here!
High back pleat (in motion) - the idea - the front (high) split will not be quite so ... well split
Borsolino hat, Prada shoes, Herself scarf, Marc Jacobs bag, Chloe blouse, Very old Burberry Mac, Fashion and Frank skirt xx
OK, I am officially coveting your shoes. :-)
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, your legs look great. Don't worry and enjoy the sunshine!
Aren't they the fabbest shoes - soo leg lengthening - thanks so much and i always enjoy the sun!! xx
DeleteOh that skirt is perfection, will you ever make the f & F designs available to the hoi polloi?
ReplyDeleteCant even get the reply button right this morning but if you look a couple down - i did xx
DeleteI really like everything is so stylish.
ReplyDeleteThank uou Nkolia x
DeleteBritish made to measure, finest fabrics - i fear i would lose rather than make a penny - and i cant tell you how much i would love to do it - but this old business head of mine tells me prob not - but thank you so much for the compliment i am loving the designing xx
ReplyDeleteoh the skirt is sooo gorgous, a timeless classic! and i love your scarf and shoes darling!
Deletekiss,mary
Thanks Mary lou it is pretty timeless - just have to keeo up the squats! x
DeleteAhh indeed, quite lovely though, don't ever Ebay anything without letting me know!
DeleteOh trying to get down to London in May, will let you know when I get dates sorted, it would be great if you were around.
Certainly will and i have to say that would be abs fab - def about in May - just give me a shout xx
DeleteI love love love your style. I wish I could come and raid your closet... Seriously!!! You always look so sharp and well put together. Can't really help you with your question though, as I usually also either go bare legged or opt for black or virtually sheer looking, can't see it's there type of stockings.

I know it just doesnt quite work with anything at the mo but the bare leg i will be working on it though x
DeleteI love the skirt and the pleat at the back.
ReplyDeleteI'm still a (black) tights girl these days....can't quite do bare legs yet!
It is very hard to get out of the black opaques isnt it - they just do wonders for the legs xx
DeleteI am a sewist and always looking for great fabric. I am going to be in London in June. Can you tell me where your fabrics are from?
ReplyDeleteJoel and Sons in Church Street is where i get most from - abs amazing fabrics - slightly more budget friendly - Berwick Street in Soho has some really fab fabric shops xx
DeleteThank you very much! I have been going to the fabulous cotton store on Berwick but will definitely visit Joel and Sons in June this year.
DeleteIt is so in the buttons with that trench - love them - and so love a hat too - i feel naked without one now - mad huh! xx
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt with that Chloe blouse and the bare legs are wonderful with it. Tights are always tricky with beige. I wear thin grey wooly ones with a camel skirt of mine, but at this time of year, more fun to go bare. I really like that you paid attention to the back of the skirt, unfortunately lots of designers tend to neglect that side.
ReplyDeleteTop tip i love the idea of the thin grey woolly tight for colder times - it is so in the back and so often is xx
DeleteWow I love your style, darling!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Besos, desde España, Marcela♥

You have fab legs just let them breath...
Do love the hat..

I love the python top. It's really beautiful. I definitely know what you mean regarding the birth of spring and bare legs It's a very sensitive time for me too!
ReplyDeleteHello Claire and what a beautiful ensemble! You said you are a child of the 70s and this look made me think about a very chic vintage-inspired look. And the skirt is another fabulous F&F piece! As for your question, my rule is to go sans tight between May and September, regardless the temperature...Have a lovely w-e!
ReplyDeleteCaterina If you say so - May to September - after all you are a very stylish girl! xx
DeleteClaire, you are too kind! I think my 'tight rule' comes from the fact that I grew up in Italy and there it would be very weird to wear tights in those months...
DeleteRegarding the Roger Vivier, I've always found them very comfortable, but for the Belle Vivier model (both 20 mm and 40 mm heel) it's true that they can be a little bit loose if you take your size (which is what I do). As for the Belle de Nuit/Gommette, I usually take half size smaller. My 'secret' to ensure perfect fitting is to use one of the Dr. Scholl's insoles (http://new.drscholls.com/drscholls/products/for-her.jspa). Hope it's helpful!
I am so going to try these - i really struggle with shoes - my feet seem to rip at the merest hint of friction so i will def be popping to Boots this weekend xx
DeleteI love your blog, it's so great!!
ReplyDeleteI love your mix of colour and prints here Clarie. You rock beige so beautifully. The high-back pleat is simply the best. :)
ReplyDelete~Madison xo
Firstly, it is wonderful to see you in action again. It is still too cool for me to go bare legged so well done for being brave. It paid off for this look. Beautiful as always. Loving the pop of colour on the neutral palette. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteEternal beige!!!! It never fails!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I love the movement in the 5th photo!
And above all, it's a very wonderful ensemble!!!
Awesome, awesome, awesome! The only word that comes to my mid right now!
ReplyDeleteI like that skirt very much and I think your bare legs are fine with that look ;-)
ReplyDeleteReally like your blouse!! Following you now. I hope you can visit and folow mine too. if you like.

I was so happy to see a comment from you today! I missed you a lot! Shame I didn't see this post earlier...
ReplyDeleteLoving the skirt very much, such a great colour and all those split & pleat surprises are just fab. Also think that the idea to use a bright scarf is absolutely brilliant.
Hope you are well, happy and enjoying the spring and wonderful weather.
Lots of kisses to Frankie from me and Ossy!

Dear Claire, you're building up quite a Fashion and Frank collection. The skirt is very beautiful, such a classic design. xo

I love your outfit Claire, it's truly beautiful--and I so relate to the bare legs dilemma! I was probably the only girl in nyc running around in a motorcycle jacket, mini and bare legs in my 20s. I just couldn't seem to wear itchy tights for long, although I love the look on others. I still go bare, but here in california that is the norm. I like the look exactly as you're wearing it.

Absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of colour from the scarf!

At last! Kept looking and no new blog, then an e-mail from Lynn in Cascais to compliment you! So now I have looked and there it is AT LAST!! Love the skirt the design and cut is superb. Also the top, am a sucker for animal prints. Think your legs look great - if you don't get goose-bumps. Opaques would not work with the outfit but as Brazilian Babe commented : "virtually sheer, can't see they are there"! Took the words out of my mouth. I hate above all else TAN sheer panti-hose, well hate even more panti-hose with sandals that is the most serious fashion no no, virtually sheet etc!!! You are looking wonderful. Luv, Mum
ReplyDeletemy eye went directly to the skirt! i love you you aren't afraid to layer with different textures and tonal color.
ReplyDeleteAh that' my dilemma too. I have your skine tone too so I am always embarassed to show my mozzarella-cheese like legs. I generally use the netfish tights but looking at you now i see that the lack of tights is acceptable so i'll try the same! You are looking great claire and i am missing you a lot!

ps you look awsome:)
First of all I love your skirt Claire! Second, I think you know my take on tights already- and I am happy to say there is no need for them here in Mexico ;)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have been so busy and no time to tan so my legs are still a weird shade of London White! (or blue?!)
Tights or no tights, the outfit is great! Personally, I love tights:-)
ReplyDeletePlease say a special "Hello" to Frank:-)
