That little surprise

What a week - madness reigns again - so whilst i really want to do a denim inspo post, tell you all about my fave fashionista of the mo - Natalie Joos.  In reality I am knee deep and not getting anywhere - so since i promised here is that little surprise - the lining - isn't it gorgeous - i love those little hidden gems you may only get a peek of or they may be beknown only to you but it is like a fabulous shoe under a long skirt, a wonderful piece of lingerie - those hidden details just make you feel absolutely fabulous - and on that note - have a wonderful week and hope to see you soon xx

and guess what the print is - grey pussy cats - how gorgeous - only Alber could do that in a cool way x

As previously all Lanvin, Borsolino hat

  4. Oh that is indeed super cute! And you are right, the finishing details in clothing are really important. Carolina Herrera does wonders with the 'insides' of her jackets!

(ps. I'm so glad you are enjoying Joel&Son- it is indeed my fabric mecca!)

    1. Oh paola i am loving it - i got some silk on Saturday - i cannot tell you how stunning it truly is - for me so much has always been in the fabric and that is what i love in my own designs - buying really beautiful fabrics and then playing with them - nirvana!! xx

  5. Those little secrets always make me smile. It's almost a shame to keep them all for yourself.

P.S. Have you noticed that you've got a shadow of your darling on this photo? ;)

P.P.S. Hope you remember to look after yourself even in the craziest and busiest of times. It's important.

  7. Yes, I agree. That is what's so lovely about couture -- even the linings have beautiful details to share. Looks like you got some great finds at Lanvin!

  11. I couldn't agree with you more--it's all about the details and the hidden ones are the most important. Your lining is gorgeous--love anything with cats on it (well as long as it's cute) and this sounds so fab! Love how happy you look in your pic!

  12. Oh, it makes a big difference to me. it's like one more special detail which makes me wont to buy. I think it's so thoughtful. And how gorgeous it looks that you open your coat or wind open it a bit and there is peeking this beautiful lining. Super chic!

  13. Very important, I definitely agree. I am a great fan of Pussycats on clothing and in a lining, and yours look super cute. Makes the coat even more special. I like linings that are totally contrary to the outside, be it colours or patterns. always makes for a nice surprise.

    1. He would make such a good print!! It is keeping the ship sailing that is making it so busy - we are not seeing the best start to the year either - it is not good out there - just lucky we have a solid base to hang in there - bloody recession - like my man says twice the work/half the reward but hey at least there is reward xx

    1. Amazingly bonnie they are - the are very tight to the ankle and with the hold they are actually very easy (relatively speaking 5.5 inch even with a hidden platform is never a running shoe! ) x

  25. Hi Claire! Once again, you have all my support for the work-madness as I have the same problem and that's the reason why I'm so 'late' in writing to you...I completely agree that very often the beauty of the objects is in the small and hidden details. The coat is beautiful, but I cannot stop staring at your skirt! To reply to your question regarding my last post, I agree with you that it's difficult to find a good jacket/coat to style with mid-calf dresses or skirts. One option is to go for fitted jackets or raicoats, which I would leave open or just tied with the belt around the waist (I remember you have a beautiful one by Lanvin!). By night or when it's warm-ish I would go just with a huge shawl...What you think? have a great w-e!

    1. I know i love this skirt so much - i have a fab prada cardi jacket that goes with it beautifully - now to get the shot! I struggle so hard with the blazer - i have loads in black and to be honest black does nothing for me nowadays and one in navy - semi structured which i like and do wear but i just seem to age with it with a skirt - maybe i need to play more or get another blazer - camel would be cool - i am thinking of a shrunken camel peacoat - what do you think? And yes i have been doing the big cashmere shawl thing a lot recently and i just bought a huge chloe cape/shawl which i will get a pic of soon and continue the discussion with that - i am going to try the trench undone tied thing - at the mo - mine are a little light but def an idea for the spring xx

  26. I totally relate to a love of linings like this fabulous one you have. I bought my current handbag simply because of the lining on the inside. The outside was so sombre looking and dignified with it's black buttery soft leather with metal details. But the inside? It had a very retro and happy daisy printed silk lining. The best part was finding out it had a micro-umbrella hiding in there in a matching cover.
