I eventually succumbed to a bug so after a couple of days enforced nothingness i had time to get off that denim inspo post. Now i know the skinny is the current staple and beloved by most including on very slim days myself but i have to say it is the not so skinny that works easiest for me - in light of that i am starting this new little series of denim inspo with the one that i love the best - the not so skinny! x
Double denim meets burgundy - great fit too - somewhere between a skinny and a boyfriend
Loving the pattern of the blouse and scarf with the neutral boot and parka
Oh it is so in that turban
Two gorgeous looks - loving the burgundy loafer and tortoise sunglasses that lift the monochrome perfectly
Adore this shot - the contrast of the sandal with the so much more wintery jacket, the knees - and what a top knot - fab
Sarah Harris, i adore her long grey hair, classic oversized sweater, perfect straight leg fit and a pop of colour in the shoes, the classic clutch and pump that are far from classic
Now this is winter perfection, there are quite a few neutrals in here, the navy of the cardigan that is just seen, the tans, burgundy brown bag, black, white and grey, all blended perfectly and this is the look that most closely resembles my own denim style - pure personal inspiration
I am ending with the classic boyfriend jean styled in its easiest form, monochromatic and very borrowed from the boys

Thanks Ionanna - as you can see def a fan of yours! xx
DeleteI love the Sarah Harris outfit and the winter perfection outfit! Great ideas F & F. I still like your 70s jeans the best!!
ReplyDeleteI know i love them best - only prob - have to wear them with super high heels and that can just be a bit much every day - so shortening a couple of pairs and keeping one super long!! x
DeleteThe first look is frikin cool and so is the last one!
ReplyDeleteThey are very cool - thanks for the comment x
DeleteEven if I more on the skinny side i am discovering the beauty of boyfriend jeans.
ReplyDeleteAlthough my fave jeans will always be the flare bottom one! Have a nice saturday!
I think mine too Francesca - you do the skinny well i have to say and sometimes they really are the best way to go - i just have to be having a skinny day - the clue might be in the name!! x
Deletehey claire, is everything ok? you working a lot? I just wanted to say hi to you and frankie!
DeleteThe last three with Sarah on top of the list, particularly because I adore a touch of colour via shoes against denim.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you say you don't always feel slim - I think you are perfect (not a compliment, but a fact confirmed by visuals) So you could really wear anything, only I feel that it's the other shapes of the jeans (including today's post) are the ones that are stylish rather than trendy/fashionable. And we are here for style, aren't we? ;)
Enjoy your weekend, take it super easy (be a princess and let your men spoil you) and have a wonderful time in London.
xxx
Thanks Natalia - i dont know why - i know i am slim - i would be an idiot not to by clothing size alone but i still have fat days - you know periody - had a heavy weekend days and believe you me the last thing i then want to do is sausage myself! Although i have to work in London i intend to also get lots of nice vegan treats and take it v easy there - much smaller place - no pets no man - much tidier - if a little quiet! will love them all the more when home huh - until then it will be some me time! have a very good weekend yourself xx
DeleteLOVE this pictures... You show how easy and fab you can look in some jeans!
ReplyDelete<3
Thanks Elin - you can certainly do a jean yourself x
DeleteMaybe I said it before, but the boyfriend jeans are my favourite style and my 'love affair' with them started several years ago when I found a pair of wonderful Tsubi at Browns - Label for Less! The portrait of Sarah Harris and the one below are so beautiful and basically my uniform during casual days. Claire, I hope you feel better and I wish you a nice we!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of tsubi too - more straight an skinny - they are a fab fit - i love labels for less - esp when its in your size! Lot better thanks xx
DeleteI love skinny jeans, they are perfect for my shape, I think I might try to earn more fashion points by copying some of these looks.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, rest up!
You know Tabitha that is what it is all about with jeans (all clothes really so why we think jeans are universal is beyond me) you need to wear the fit that flatters your figure - and there is no way that you need any fashion points xx
DeleteI'm in love with boyfriends since last summer, great inspirations!

oh this looks are really great and it looks so amazing on this girls, but for me personally this not so slim jeans don´t work soo well, i prefer skinny or flared jeans;)
ReplyDeletelove and kiss,mary
I love the not so skinny jeans more than the skinny ones. They are more stylish in my opinion and to be perfectly honest, they work the best for me. The grey coat look really is winter perfection, I often wear variations of that outfit, and I really love Sarah Harris' jeans fit. Great inspiration, Claire! Enjoy your weekend! I hope it's a relaxing one. xo

I would love some not-so-skinny-jeans!They kind of give that grunge look xx

Oh totally love these shots! I know what you mean, too - sometimes the not-so-skinny work so much better on my legs! The ripped jean shot with the top knot is probably my fave, too!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend! :)

Love this post!
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I am all into skinnies. Feel fabulous in them. However, perfect jeans is not that easy to find. It is what suits your body that is important. And what makes you feel good and comfortable.
On another note, I LOVE those shoes Sarah is wearing. Perfection!
Have a lovely Sunday
Red
Aren't they gorgeous - and i totally agree with you it is all today with body shape, and at this point i am not referring to weight but the shape you are and what suits you - particuarly so in the jean i think which is why the elusive perfect pair are so hard to find - a good sunday to you too x
ReplyDeleteNot-so-skinny works better for me as well because I have some curves. I have so so many pairs and I tend to rotate favourites month to month but I am currently obsessed with a pair of Zadig et Voltaire. They are not so loose to fit into the 'boyfriend' category, but lose enough to roll them up and wear them with pumps!
ReplyDelete(I also adore the photograph with the sandals! I'm definitely going to do that this spring!)
they all wear denim shirts perfectly.... just so edgy and cool!!!
ReplyDeletei think u can pull that off too!
